Bloodlines War: Losing Base Capture Points as a Result of Changing Commander

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

Some of you have come to us letting us know that you changed the commander of your war army, and as a result, you lost the base capture points that your army had earned. Right now, armies are linked to each individual commander, so that when a new commander takes over an existing army, the base capture points restart at zero, even if the army has the same name. In the next version of the War HUD, we will include a function to transfer your army to a new person, so that the base points will carry over.

In the mean time, we have had several requests to restore base points to armies that have switched commanders, with the membership of the army staying otherwise the same. So, if you have done this at any time in the past and lost your existing base points, I will restore your previous base capture points to your current army. Just leave a comment on this post with the army name, the previous commander, and the new commander, or send a notecard to Lyle Maeterlinck in-world, and I’ll restore your points. Thanks for your patience, and for playing war!

Bloodlines has no age requirements

Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

We’ve received a few reports of “underage” people playing Bloodlines. We just wanted to clarify that we do not enforce a minimum age. Linden Labs has age requirements that you can review in section 3.1 of the second life terms of service. Everyone in Second Life must comply with the Second Life Terms of Service.

If you want to enforce a minimum real-life age to be in your clan, that’s up to you, but the official Bloodlines policy is that we welcome everyone who complies with the bloodlines terms of service, which has no age requirements.

The Rage: Lycans Have Arrived

Monday, July 6th, 2009

We are pleased to announce the long-awaited arrival of the Bloodlines lycan system, The Rage. We know it’s long overdue, but we couldn’t rush it out, we wanted to make it as richly featured as The Thirst, and we agonized over the details. We’ve configured it so that The Thirst and The Rage can stand alone, or can seamlessly integrate, depending on how you want to use it. Vampires and Lycans can exchange attacks, and can mix together in clans and packs. Or, you can become both enraged and embraced to achieve the status of Hybrid, moving back and forth between both worlds. For all the details, please see the Vampire / Lycan interaction section of our new Game Guide.

We’ve been through a lot of testing, but it’s a complicated system and we can’t guarantee you won’t run into any errors. If you run into a problem, just send a notecard to Lyle Maeterlinck with a description of the problem, and we promise we’ll get it corrected right away.

Over the last year and two months, thousands of you have endured a relentless Vampire Curse to form the true vampire armies of Second Life. You have taken part in an adventure that encompasses both real and invented stories, and every one of your characters have left their mark on the story of Bloodlines forever.

Now arise the Lycan armies. I’m sure you’re with us when we say that we can’t wait to see what happens next.

Also, there is another big development just over the horizon, so stay tuned…

Thanks to everyone for your support!
