Research Stations

Monday, December 14th, 2020

We’re happy to announce that we’ve added a small new feature to Legends – the Research Station! At these stations you can look up recipes to learn where you can unlock them, and also sometimes just immediately learn new crafting recipes at the Research Station itself. We kicked the stations off by immediately adding a new recipe, the Rustic Cart, which can be immediately learned and then crafted at a Carpentry Counter.

For now the stations are just on our own sims, but if they prove useful we may eventually release them for home use. You can find them at our landing domes, as well as in our main stores next to the crafting station displays:

.:[ Mortal Crossroads ]:. ~ Bloodlines Midland

.:[ Lycan Woodlands ]:. ~ Bloodlines West

.:[ Haunted Domain ]:. ~ Bloodlines South

.:[ Angel Havens ]:. ~ Bloodlines North

We’re excited to announce that we’ve added a group of Collectible Textures tied to the Medals Achievements. Whenever a medal is earned, one of these textures will be automatically delivered to your Rare Texture Library and can be then put into a paint can or loaded onto a container.

*One thing to note: these texture awards are only delivered for individual Medals earned, not Family awards.

**Another thing to note: as with any new award or achievement, we do not retroactively award these based on previous achievements / activity.

New Releases: Haunted Domain

Sunday, October 4th, 2020

We’re thrilled to announce a new set of items in the Bloodlines: Domain series: The Haunted Domain!

If you remember the early days of Bloodlines, it spawned out of our original store of mesh avatar accessories and sim decor “The Crypt”. Those items were great for their day, but as mesh eventually arrived they became dated and we retired them. We get frequent requests for those items to return (particularly around Halloween) so we finally decided to dive in and release a new set.

We’ll be releasing items all through the month of October, so check back here to see the latest release. Some of the sets will tie-in to Bloodlines Legends quests will be also coming out with regularity during the month of October.

There is a brick-and-mortar store in our Demon Badlands sky plaza (near the Torment store) and the items will also shortly appear on MP and in the old Crypt affiliate vendors.

Happy decorating!

Legends Update: Gold and Silver Tools

Hello Legends! We’re happy to announce that two local blacksmiths, Baxter Trank and Bendis have released two new sets of tools, Silver and Gold. These tools not only have greater durability for more harvesting ability, but also have the ability to harvest a few new Ultrarare and Legendary resources from harvesting stations.

They can be purchased with Gold Coins and repaired with either Silver Ingots or Gold Ingots respectively. The tool vendors are scattered around on the Legends RP sims.

We also lowered the stamina costs for smelting ingots and repairing tools; they were 10 stamina each and now are 2 stamina each. They are still 10 stamina per strike.

Happy harvesting!

Legends: Moving Flags Off of Inaccessible Regions

Wednesday, August 12th, 2020

It has come to our attention that some claimed regions in Legends have become inaccessible for one reason or another. In order to address this, we have added a feature where you can move Legends Claim Flags off of regions that are no longer accessible. If you have flags that can be moved, you will see a link at the top of your Legends Land page that will take you to a form that will let you move your flags to a different region. To get to this page, make sure you are logged into slbloodlines.com, navigate to your profile, and then click on the Claim Flag icon in the Legends section of your profile. You are not required to move flags off of inaccessible regions, you can leave them there if you wish. Current discoverers of inaccessible regions are not affected by this. Sovereigns of regions and region levels are updated when flags are moved.

Right now, the only situation in which we’re facilitating the moving of claim flags is if the region the flags are on can no longer be accessed. You can’t move flags that you placed on a region that is still accessible.

Regions that are marked as inaccessible can still be browsed to on the website, and you can still use your Legends HUD on them if you are somehow able to access them. They just will not show up in the region search that you access through the compass button on your HUD.

Regions can only be marked as inaccessible manually by us. We won’t know if a region is inaccessible unless someone reports it to us. If you discover a region in Legends that is missing, private, or otherwise can’t be accessed, please report it to us by creating a support ticket, and we will investigate it. Likewise, if you discover a region that is currently marked as inaccessible that has become accessible, please report that to us as well. Happy adventuring!

We put out a new gacha set of rare textures for the Iron Prism today! None of the textures have ever been available before. There are two versions of the gacha machine, one that take Lindens and one that takes Legends Gold Coins, earned via Questing. *** Note: on the Legends machines, you will get a paint bucket but it will be empty, you’ll need to manually load the texture from your Library into it.

These machines have a timer on them and will explode (and disappear) 21 days after release.

The machines are rezzed on 4 sims so if one set is busy you can try another location:

Revised Update on Obtaining Metrics From Fresh Victims

Friday, June 5th, 2020

In April we made an update to Bloodlines to try to prevent gaming of the stats through the use of alts. We noticed that some people were obtaining unlimited metrics by registering thousands of alts and using them only for the metrics obtained from the first attack on a fresh victim. Obviously, this is grossly unfair to everyone who plays the game honestly without farming alt accounts. The metrics obtained from fresh victim attacks are meant to be a reward that you get for hunting, not something that gets farmed from alt accounts. In April we made it so that in order to get the metrics from an attack on a fresh victim, you had to have payment info used on your account (used as an indicator of a real, unique account and not an alt), and metrics from fresh victims were limited to 50 attacks per day.

We’ve realized that these limits have been inadequate, and alt farmers continue their practices despite these limits. So, unfortunately, in order to keep the game fair to everyone, we have removed the above limits, and put in place a different limit. We’ve just issued an update so that attacks on fresh victims don’t provide metrics to the attacker until the soul is transferred. When the soul is transferred from a new person to an attacker (either the first attacker, or the first attacker after a Wormwood potion is used), the metrics from the first bite are also transferred at that time. If your metrics are full at the time that this transfer takes place, they will go into your metric reserve instead, and can be obtained from a refill station. This has the additional benefit of removing the previous arbitrary limits. Now, your payment status is no longer a factor, and there is no limit on the metrics you can get from fresh victims in a day.

Ideally this will be the last change we need to make. Thanks for your patience while we’ve struggled with these bad elements. The game should now be more fair for everyone.

Update to Granite Mine

Tuesday, May 19th, 2020

We made an update to the Granite Mine today that we wanted to elaborate on. Originally the mine only had 7 possible resources in it. Now that the Forge and Transmogrifier crafting stations are out and soon to be released for sale, we’re about to start releasing more quests and craftable mesh items that require metals and ore.

There will be another Mine coming out soon, and between the two we’ve spread out all the new minable resources. These include a lot of rock and stone, some gemstones, and semiprecious and precious metal ores. All told there will be around 60 new resources, 30 or so of which will be now on the Granite Mine.

While we do always reserve the right to update harvesting stations with new resources, we realize this is a large drop compared to the one or two that we add occasionally to the Knolls or the magic map. The original 7 have retained their rarities and it should still be fairly easy to get key ones like Coal and Salt Crystals. And we promise to make good use of all the new resources in Quests and Recipes coming soon!

One final note: there is Copper, Silver, Gold and Platinum Ore in the new mines. This ore will soon have recipes for crafting into ingots, however we have no plans to ever have it craftable into Coins. Coins are hard-earned resources through Questing and we are going with the RPG logic that coins must be minted by official governments and currency-creators in the world, and ore that is mined will strictly be for ingots and crafting. Having said that, we’ve still made sure to make the precious metal ores Rare and Ultra-Rare, because it ought to be valuable!

Gacha Update: Exploding Machines!

Saturday, May 9th, 2020

We’ve updated our gacha machines with timers, and when time’s up they explode!

We’ve gotten feedback in regards to the way Bloodlines has handled gacha in the past. The two main areas of complaint / request are A) that we release gacha sets more often and B) that we take the sets down in a specific amount of time so as to preserve their value and rarity for trading and selling purposes.

We hear you! As for the first part, we have a lot going on with the releasing of Quests and other updates but we’re going to try hard to get out more gacha sets this year – both Rare Textures and some Rare Mesh item sets.

As for part B – we are going to get more strict about when we put up and take down the machines. To help this, we’ve created an exploding gacha machine with a timer. The timer shows in hovertext over the machine how much longer the set will be available, and when the timer is up the machine will explode in confetti and disappear.

We still (as always) reserve the right to sell or make available items or textures in the future, however generally when we take a set down we do not put it up again, sometimes for years (and sometimes never again) so rest assured – we are aware of the importance of value retention for trading and selling, and will try to safeguard that.

So please come visit the sims, check out the new machines (and the timers!) and we’ll post again here when we have new sets out.

Happy gacha-ing!
