We’re pleased to announce the winners and runners-up of our 12th Anniversary Haunt Contest. Thanks to everyone who participated! The 3 Winners will get the Gold Rare Textures, the 20 Runners Up will get the Silver, and anyone who participated will get the Participation Rare. Textures will delivered automatically to your Rare Library so look for it on your profile, or rez a Paint Can or Bloodlines Container and look for the texture in the menu to download.

We’ve updated our gacha machines with timers, and when time’s up they explode!
We’ve gotten feedback in regards to the way Bloodlines has handled gacha in the past. The two main areas of complaint / request are A) that we release gacha sets more often and B) that we take the sets down in a specific amount of time so as to preserve their value and rarity for trading and selling purposes.
We hear you! As for the first part, we have a lot going on with the releasing of Quests and other updates but we’re going to try hard to get out more gacha sets this year – both Rare Textures and some Rare Mesh item sets.
As for part B – we are going to get more strict about when we put up and take down the machines. To help this, we’ve created an exploding gacha machine with a timer. The timer shows in hovertext over the machine how much longer the set will be available, and when the timer is up the machine will explode in confetti and disappear.
We still (as always) reserve the right to sell or make available items or textures in the future, however generally when we take a set down we do not put it up again, sometimes for years (and sometimes never again) so rest assured – we are aware of the importance of value retention for trading and selling, and will try to safeguard that.
So please come visit the sims, check out the new machines (and the timers!) and we’ll post again here when we have new sets out.

We’re excited to announce an official grid-wide Bloodlines Event – The Bloodlines 12th Anniversary Party! It’s been a wild 12 years and we’d like to celebrate.

The event starts now (April 21st) and runs through Saturday May 9th. We’ll immediately be connecting participating Haunts via the website and the HUDs, so that you can easily travel from event to event, while discovering new Bloodlines-friendly locations. In the last week before the party, Mars and Lyle will be visiting participating locations to help with the final judging of the top Haunts, and we hope to see you there!
For Haunt owners, this event means a chance to raise awareness of your clan land, club, bar or RP area! The Anniversary Event will provide an influx of new visitors, as well as give you a chance to network with other Bloodlines friendly locations. Players will be able to vote on their favorite Haunts they visited during the week. On the final day (Saturday May 9th) we’ll be having an event on the Bloodlines sims, and we’ll give away the prizes.
To vote on your favorite Haunts, all you need to do is press the ‘Vote’ link next to the 12-year anniversary icon on the profile of participating haunts.
Prizes:
Anniversary Participation Rare – Given to anyone who opted-in their Haunt to the event. (Limit one per avatar)
Runner-Up Rares (Silver Crown) – Given to the best 20 Haunts (may be more or less depending on the quality of entries)
Top Haunt Rares (Gold Crown) – Given to the top 3 Haunts. These will also receive a banner on the Bloodlines homepage for a week following the event.
Getting involved is simple:
Location Owners – If you already have a Haunt, just log into your profile, Edit Haunts, and opt-in via the radio button for the 12th Anniversary Event. Make sure to use the Haunt Events calendar to schedule specific times for your events. We’re keeping the theme wide open – as long as your space is Bloodlines (or Legends) themed in some way, we’re excited to check it out!
Bloodlines players – The 12th Anniversary Event will automatically generate locations in your HUD, under the Haunt button. We’ll also make it clear on the website which locations are participating, so you should be able to easily find the next great location to visit!
On May 9th, we’ll wrap it up with an official party / awards ceremony on the Bloodlines sims where we’ll deliver all the prizes, so be sure to stop by. See you there, and thanks to everyone for making Bloodlines a vibrant RP community for 12 years running!

Greetings everyone! We’re about a week away from opening the Vampire RP area and initial Quests, and we are going to have an event to celebrate.
Come Friday to our event area to relax with your fellow Families and Legends and enjoy music, a costume contest and rare giveaways.
There will be a Summoning Station (that will eventually be moved to the Vampire Islands landing area) where you can summon a copy of the new Islands Explorer Satchel.

Linden Labs recently released a new feature that allows you to change your legacy name. Bloodlines detects your legacy name by reading the name reported by the Second Life region that you’re on when requests are sent to our server by your HUD. Because of a SL server bug that has existed for some time, if your legacy name changes, your old name will continue to be cached and reported by some regions for an unknown amount of time. For avatars that have had their names changed by Linden Labs for various reasons before this feature was available (such as people who created objectionable names), we have seen some regions continue to report the old names for over a month.
Bloodlines was updated to account for changing legacy names over a year ago, but because of the bug mentioned above, if you changed your name, some sims might report your new name, and some might report your old name. Your account was still being identified correctly by your UUID, but your name might have been getting changed back and forth between your old and new name depending on how it was being reported to us by the region.
We’ve just made an update to all of our HUDs that attempts to implement a workaround for this problem. If you have changed your legacy name, and you don’t see your new name reflected on the Bloodlines website, please get a redelivery of your HUDs from the update terminal and wear them, and it should update your name correctly, but may not work for some people. If it doesn’t work for you, please file a support ticket, and we will get your name corrected.
