We’re excited to announce an official grid-wide Bloodlines Event – The Bloodlines 13th Anniversary Haunted Tour and Anniversary Party! Bloodlines is officially a teenager now and we’re really in the mood to party! Since it’s our lucky 13th we’re getting a bit spooky this year so if you want to decorate your Haunt location keep that theme in mind!

On May 7th you can tp to the party here: Anniversary Party!

The event starts now (April 22nd) and runs through Thursday May 6th at 12:00pm SLT. We’ll immediately be connecting participating Haunts via the website and the HUDs, so that you can easily travel from event to event, while discovering new Bloodlines-friendly locations. In the last week before the party, Mars and Lyle will be visiting participating locations to help with the final judging of the top Haunts, and we hope to see you there!

For Haunt owners, this event means a chance to raise awareness of your clan land, club, bar or RP area! The Anniversary Event will provide an influx of new visitors, as well as give you a chance to network with other Bloodlines friendly locations. Players will be able to vote on their favorite Haunts they visited during the week. The day after we have made our deliberations (Friday May 7th) we’re having an event on the Bloodlines sims, and we’ll give away the prizes!

To vote on your favorite Haunts, all you need to do is press the ‘Vote’ link next to the 13-year anniversary icon on the profile of participating haunts.

Prizes:

Anniversary Participation Rare – Given to anyone who opted-in their Haunt to the event. (Limit one per avatar)

Runner-Up Rares (Silver Crown) – Given to the best 20 Haunts (may be more or less depending on the quality of entries)

Top Haunt Rares (Gold Crown) – Given to the top 3 Haunts. These will also receive a banner on the Bloodlines homepage for a week following the event. (may be more or less depending on the quality of entries)

Getting involved is simple:

Location Owners – If you already have a Haunt, just log into your profile, Edit Haunts, and opt-in via the radio button for the 12th Anniversary Event. Make sure to use the Haunt Events calendar to schedule specific times for your events. We’re keeping the theme wide open – as long as your space is Bloodlines (or Legends) themed in some way, we’re excited to check it out!

Bloodlines players – The 13th Anniversary Event will automatically generate locations in your HUD, under the Haunt button. We’ll also make it clear on the website which locations are participating, so you should be able to easily find the next great location to visit!

Bloodlines is having a photo contest! We are feeling quite festive and we want to see what makes you get into the holiday spirit, whatever frosts your snowman! The best photos will be featured in the banner on our website, as well as hung in a gallery down on Bloodlines North.

The contest is free to enter, and you may enter as many times as you like (as long as each photo is different).

How to Enter
1) Take a photo of a winter scene, avatar(s) dressed in a holiday theme (can be yourself or another), or a beautiful winter  tableau. Final dimensions need to be our Website Banner size, so at least 2400 x 600, max 4800 x 1200. If you wish, you can submit a photo that is square (2400×2400 min) but make sure that there is a croppable strip appropriate for a banner.

Contest Rules
Time: The contest will end on December 4th, 2020.

Judging: Entries will be judged by Mars Bracken, Lyle Maeterlinck and LiquidDesigns Resident

Criteria: Entries will be judged based on the overall image, but some things to consider might be setting/location, lighting, and mood, and whether you have some RP or race elements present (angel, demon, vampire, etc.). Photoshopping is of course acceptable but please don’t add text to the photos. Bloodlines also reserves the right to do slight photoshopping to winners (if necessary) in order to format them for the final banners.

Prizes
– Top Runners Up (number TBD)will receive Photo Silver texture for one type of container
– 1st Place Winners (number TBD) will receive Photo Gold texture for one type of container as well as becoming a banner on the Bloodlines homepage.

We’re excited to announce the next official grid-wide Bloodlines Event – The Haunted Tour 2020! It will start on October 1st and run to October 31st.

The Haunted Tour is an event for people who wish to show off their haunted houses, dungeons, clubs and bars for the spooky holiday ahead.  Anyone owning a Bloodlines Haunt can opt-in, and anyone with a HUD will be able to participate in the tour.

What specifically does this mean for Bloodlines players? It means during that month we’ll be connecting participating Haunts up via the website and the HUDs, so that you can easily travel from haunted location to haunted location, and meet up with people while discovering new Bloodlines-friendly places.

For Haunt owners, this event means a chance to get your location on the map! The Haunted Tour will provide an influx of new visitors, as well as give you a chance to network with other Bloodlines friendly locations. Players will be able to vote on their favorite Haunts, and prizes will be awarded at the end. Mars, Lyle Liquid Designs Resident and other officials will be visiting participating locations to help with the final judging of the top locations, and we hope to see you there! On the final day (Saturday October 31st) we’ll be having an event on the Bloodlines sims, and we’ll give away the prizes.

Voting will start in a few days and run until October 30th. During that time, all you need to do to vote is press the ‘Vote’ link next to the Haunted Tour icon on the profile of participating haunts.

We have created a new set of Soul War Rare textures!

The previous Soul War Rares are now retired, congratulations to all the winners. Your Rares are now likely to be even more coveted since they cannot ever be won again.

With the new set, there are a few changes. Primarily, we’ve added Rare textures for the Barrels, Vessels, and Urns. This update adds 61 possible new Rare textures (all the achievement categories + Top Individual, Family Leader, and MVP awards) to each of the 5 types of container.

The second change, as mentioned in our achievement blog post, is that now each winner will receive just one texture, and this texture will be chosen based on whatever your dominant race is at midnight at the end of the month. So regardless of the Achievement category, if for example you are Demon dominant at midnight on the 31st, you will receive an Urn Rare Texture for your award.

As with our past Rares linked to achievements, any ties will be broken with a coin toss to see who will get the Rare texture for that category.

We’re thrilled to announce the release of new achievements for Angels, Demons, and Humans that support them. There are over two dozen new challenges with multiple levels, each of which can earn you badge icons for your profile, and the envy and esteem of your fellow players!

We’ve made an update to our Rarity calculation as a result of the new achievements. There are certain achievement requirements in order to reach certain soul rarity levels, such as that you need 7 or more achievements at level 5 in order to reach Ultra-rare soul status. Before this update, there were four frenzy and berserk achievements, but now there are eight. Only four frenzy and berserk achievements will continue to count towards the rarity requirement, in order to maintain the same level of difficulty for the rarity levels. So, any four out of the eight total frenzy and berserk achievements will count for rarity.

We made a similar update to The Soul War medal award system. There are medals you can win in soul war for getting certain numbers of achievements to certain levels, such as getting 5 different achievements to level one to get the Wooden Star. Only four out of the eight Frenzy and Berserk Achievements will count towards Soul War Medals. You can still do all eight, and they still count for Soul War Progress and rankings. You just won’t be able to use only Frenzies and Berserks to get the Wooden Star and other medals, you will have to get other achievements as well.

Again, the goal of the above two updates is to maintain the same difficulty level of getting medals and rarity, while just expanding the number of achievements that there are to choose from to get medals and increase rarity.

And finally, this month we’ll be releasing a completely new style of Soul War Rare textures! Details on that are to come, but the gist is that we will be retiring the previous Soul War Rare design and replacing it with a new one. Also, the way in which textures are delivered will change; currently if you win a Soul War category, you get a texture for multiple container designs. Since we’ve added two containers, delivering 5 different versions of the same award texture (especially when not everyone owns every type of container) seems a bit overkill.

Starting on April 1st, if you win a Soul War category you will be delivered just one rare texture, and it will be in the container type of whatever your dominant race is on the 1st. So if you are demon-dominant, you’ll be delivered an Urn Soul War Rare texture for your winning category, if you’re angel-dominant you’ll be delivered a Vessel Soul War Rare texture, and so forth. More details on the new style of Soul War Rare texture will be released soon, so stay tuned to this blog!
