Warning to Buyers: Do Not Purchase Potions at Below-Market Value

June 13th, 2010 by Lyle Maeterlinck

There are a large number of potions out there being sold at below-market prices. They are counterfeit. It is not possible to legally obtain an Electrum potion for less than 999L, or any of the other potions for less than 225L if you buy them in a 4-pack. We do not guarantee the operation of any product unless it is purchased directly from one of the Liquid Designs stores and you have a verifiable purchase record with us. Within a matter of days, all potions in inventory will be deactivated, and new potions will be released with no-transfer permissions. For your protection, do not purchase potions anywhere other than directly from a Liquid Designs vendor. If you need potions, we do not recommend buying the large stockpiles of potions being offered by criminals. If you do, we will not be able to help you when they are deactivated.

*** Please note  – if you have purchased your potion from a Bloodlines vendor or catalogue vendor, and we have a transaction record of it, you will be able to trade your discontinued potions in to Noire Luminos for the new version. Also, the new version will allow you to “Offer” the potion to another player to drink (much like offering a bite), so you will still be able to use your stockpiled potions on other players (with their consent, of course) as long as they were purchased from Bloodlines.

since i buy wormwood and hemlock for my minions, i have quite a stockpile. if my inventory will be made useless, and given no-transfer potions in exchange for proof of purchases, how can my minions use those potions if given to me no-transfer?

But honest bought potions that just didnt come to use yet will they be worthless now?

Some more information of how to solve this now would be much appreciated. A lot of respectable Vampires/Lycans have potions stocked to have them by hand. And surely not all are bought at suspicious shops.
All potions are deactivated? So its the small buyer again paying all the bill. Me personally thinks that is not very fair to the players, doing their best to give Bloodlines some better face again. Maybe the one reliable for that this could happen pays for. And kick the exploiters.

@ B0bby – The new potions you get as part of the trade-in will have a “Offer Drink” as part of the blue menu. You will still be able to use the potions on Minions. It will in fact be safer, because now there is no risk of the Minion or a scammer running away with your potion; they either drink it on the spot, or decline to drink.

  5. Mars Bracken Says:

@ Kiss – Once we deactivate the old potions, any potions you have (that we have transaction records for) can be traded in. If the potions were purchased from another source than Bloodlines, then it will have to be worked out with them.

@ Mars – I have read that part and am aware of. In my case its about 7 wormwoods, out of 2x 4-packs, and I dont have any record of the transaction anymore. One Hemlock, rest of a 4-pack, also to old to have a transaction of. And that is the point. You – as company Bloodlines – dont care about the small user losing money because of the missuse and exploitation of some assholes. That drives me a step closer to quit all this and concentrate on other things. Then its just a trashed RP like several aothers in SL. And honestly I would be sad about.
This is my view, my opinion of this.
It is again the small honest player paying 🙁 In this issue double.

  7. Mars Bracken Says:

@ Kiss – we keep our own transaction records of every purchase made from a Bloodlines vendor. If we have the record of your purchase, then if you follow the instructions in the latest blog post, you should be able to get a trade in for your potions.

So, what if we have potions from people who legitly bought the potions, as I bought some of mine from people who quit Bloodlines. Are we able to send these in along with name we purchased from?
