Introducing Bloodlines : WAR

July 26th, 2009 by Lyle Maeterlinck

We’d like to announce the release of our new system: Bloodlines War. The Bloodlines War products have been out for a couple of weeks, as somewhat of a “soft-launch” to allow us to work out any major problems before we advertised it. The Bloodlines War system is a straightforward, easy-to-use combat system that works anywhere in Second Life. It allows you to use your Thirst Fangs and Rage Claws as weapons in combat with other Bloodlines players. However, you don’t have to be a member of The Thirst or The Rage in order to play. The War system includes a bare-fisted attack, and is set up to work with a future line of weapons. Check out the products page to see the full line of war items.

If you’re a current Bloodlines player, fighting in Bloodlines War will not affect your current Thirst or Rage stats. The War stats are an entirely separate set of stats where you can gain kills, a body count, and increase your level, xp, and lethality ratings. However, your vital blood level will increase the strength of your fang attack, and your lumen level will increase the strength of your claw attack.

If you have any questions or comments about the system, please send them to Lyle Maeterlinck in-world. We hope you like this new system as much as we do!

Awesome we are already playing and have been having tons of fun.

But, i would like to remind everyone in order to have fun and keep the game going please observe the laws on private owned land. Please keep in mind also that bloodlines has created weapons to use and are working to create more, so quantum huds, and orbiting huds , traps and such are not included in the bloodlines war games, and on some SIMS these particular weapons and fighting styles are prohibited, and flying on sims that has flying turned off, this is a unfair practice of outsiders coming in with flight feather and useing admin rights to fly and attack. So please be fair and observe the laws of other peoples sims so everyone can have fun lawbreakers take away the fun for everyone thank you have a nice fight.

is it really true that you have to use the “health serum” every single time you die? doesnt health just slowly regenerate like in most games?

  3. Angel Lavecchia Says:

I hate to say this but with all the cheating going on people are going to lose interest in war real soon

can you guys not use shields ?
can you not use griefers ?
can you abide by SIM owner rules?
can you not play the same as everyone else ?

I want to send a shout to all you I have encountered on my SIM for following the SIM owners rules you are the true bloodlines warriors and you are always welcome on my land.

I noticed that gaining level does not increase your combat damage at all, am I right?

If so, what’s the value in levelling up? 0.o

  5. LionheartWerefox Says:

Might i remind you all that in the FAQ’s of Bloodlines:: WAR no where does it mention cheating or how to setup or defend pylons as to any official rules. The SIM i am a part of simply sets it up as it says in the FAQ’s. How Every you want. So yes you may call certain setups cheating however. Mar and Lyle did not specify and setup rules.

  6. Selene Putzo Says:

Looking at the “guidelines” for this War Game (hud and pylons), I’ve come to the conclusion that flight is not a restricted attribute. I’m understanding this overcomes the problem of landowners who disable flight and rez pylons at 4,ooom in the air. If any land owner thinks they can do that then yes… I would ctrl+alt+v to get up to that altitude and claim their pylons; and they could yell cheat at me as much as they like. lol vampires do fly you know… lycans do leap… we are supernatural creatures and can do more than the average human foot soldier.

Regarding non-bloodlines War weapons:. if a Quantum/Abaddon/MDC or any other HuD wont light up the weapons in your War Hud, then its shouldn’t be used for the War Game… does that stand to reason? That includes all push weapons, move locks and shields… plus that “phantom” button on most non-standard client viewers too.

As with everything in real and second life, you will find people who cannot adhere to the laws/rules of any land/game.

Try to play nice. Read the guidelines Bloodlines give. Stick to the tools they provide for fun game play. Who knows, if you all play nice then more people (like myself) would want to join in.

How does one know if someone is using a shield or something like that that is not part of the bloodlines tools? We have had several on our new bloodlines War area that it is difficult to target almost as if they turn on and off their Hud but that would be difficult to do when running and attaching and attempting to take pylons. Not sure what to make of this.
    newbie to war games here
    thanks
